Using overlay in Photoshop

Short Photoshop overlay tutorial

This works best on a lighter background. I will describe how i do it, if you do it in a different way, i dont care… ;)

1.

Fist put the thingy you want to overlay as a layer on top of the background.

2.

Then you need to distort the layer so it has the same alignment as the background. Do as i push Ctrl T and hold Ctrl down when you moving the corners or you can go to [Edit > Transform > Distort] align the layer with the background.

3.

Now choose overlay from “Layers”

4.

If you think its to dark i sometimes dublicate the layer [Layer > Duplicate Layer] and i set the opacity to 50%

Many people have tried to explain this idea and have failed miserably. I am glad someone has stepped forth and claimed first place and been able to rectify that situation.
